API3 (API3) emerges as a pioneering project in the blockchain arena, aiming to bridge the gap between smart contracts and real-world data through decentralized APIs. This initiative is critical as blockchain technology increasingly integrates into sectors like decentralized finance and supply chain management. API3’s ambition to create, manage, and monetize decentralized APIs at scale highlights its potential in providing reliable data to smart contracts. The fundamental analysis of the API3 – API3 cryptocurrency reveals a composite score of 6.53 out of 10, reflecting its varied strengths and areas for improvement across different domains.
API3’s performance in social and media engagement is mixed, with a score of 6.3 out of 10. While community activity on social media pages is outstanding, earning a perfect score of 10 out of 10, it falls short in two critical areas: attracting followers and the size of chat group communities, both of which score a modest 4 out of 10.The activities of social media administrators and presence in the media are moderately positive, with scores of 5 and 8 respectively. This mixed performance indicates room for growth in online engagement and visibility.
The audit and security aspect of API3 yields a score of 5.45 out of 10. The results of audits and transparency of information available to the public received scores of 5 and 6 respectively, suggesting a need for enhanced transparency and security measures. Liquidity on Exchange, with a score of 7, indicates a relatively stable trading environment.
API3’s token economy is reasonably robust, scoring 6.7 out of 10. The project’s approach to inflation and centralization of monetary mass received scores of 8 and 6 respectively, indicating a balanced approach to token distribution and value preservation.
Ecosystem development is a strong area for API3, with a score of 7.5 out of 10. Achieving objectives and planning for new developments received scores of 7 and 8 respectively. This suggests a forward-thinking approach and commitment to continuous improvement and expansion.
The team and developers behind API3 have a moderate score of 6.2 out of 10. The experience of the team is fairly positive (6.5 out of 10), but the number of software developers is a bit lower than desired (5 out of 10). This indicates a need for expanding the development team to bolster the project’s capabilities.
In terms of product and utility, API3 scores 5.96 out of 10. The utility of the product is moderately appreciated, achieving a score of 6.6 out of 10. However, the utility of tokens within the ecosystem requires improvement, garnering a lower score of 5 out of 10. This disparity indicates a notable gap between the project’s offerings and their practical application.
API3’s partnerships and investor relations are strong, scoring 7.25 out of 10. The project enjoys robust support from investors (8.5 out of 10) but has room to improve in terms of the number and quality of partnerships (6 out of 10).
Considering the scores obtained from the fundamental analysis of the API3 – API3 cryptocurrency, it’s evident that while API3 is positioned well in certain aspects like ecosystem development and investor support, it faces challenges in areas such as social media engagement and product utility. The project shows promise in its approach to decentralizing APIs and offering reliable data for smart contracts, which is increasingly important in today’s blockchain-centric world. However, for investors, these scores suggest a cautious approach. The potential for growth is significant, but so are the risks associated with uneven performance in key areas. As the blockchain landscape evolves, API3’s adaptability and response to these challenges will be crucial in determining its long-term success and viability as an investment option.
API3, launched in September 2020, presents a novel solution to the challenges smart contracts face in accessing reliable data. It aims to bridge the gap between these contracts and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), which are crucial for feeding real-world data into blockchain systems. The primary obstacle API3 addresses is the lack of direct connectivity between smart contracts and APIs, an issue traditionally mitigated through oracles.
The team behind API3 includes Heikki Vanttinen, Burak Benligiray, and Saša Milić. Vanttinen’s background includes founding CLC Group and working as the CMO of Zippie, both focused on integrating blockchain into practical applications. Benligiray, previously at CLC Group as CTO, has been involved in developing ChainAPI, an integral part of API3’s framework. Milić brings her experience as a lecturer and her work in the tech industry to the project.
What sets API3 apart in the blockchain realm is its focus on rectifying internal blockchain issues, particularly in data sourcing for decentralized ledgers. Decentralized APIs, as proposed by API3, offer enhanced data transparency right to the source level. This approach contrasts with existing decentralized oracles, which don’t extend their solution to the data source API. API3’s innovation includes the development of Airnode, a lightweight middleware designed for quick deployment, transparency, and reduced transaction costs.
Social & Mass Media In this section was taken into consideration the intensity of the activity of the social media page of the administrators , the speed of the community growth, the user interaction with the pages and as well the number of media appearances in the most important trade publications.
Audit & Security In particular, the team looks if the project is audited, how extensive the audit is, at the bug bounty program, if it had incidents or not, at the liquidity on the exchanges and at the transparency of the information provided.
Tokenomics Under this criterion it is analyzed whether the project is inflationary or not, whether it has maximum supply, the percentage of supply released into the market at the time of the analysis, the rate of inflation per year, the distribution of supply in the portfolios as well as the vesting plan.
Ecosistem Development In this section is checked if the project has delivered on time what it proposed in the roadmap, the degree of participation in the project governance of the community, the activity and intensity of the developments published on github and what products or applications the team proposes to develop in the future.
Team & Developers It checks if the team is public, the quality of the team behind the project, the number of members on different domains, the experience in IT, finance and cryptography, the traceability of published information about team members and as well the number of developers in the project.
Product & Utility It checks if there are functional products, the number of users and the revenues generated by these products, the sustainability of the project and the usefulness offered in the cryptographic space and as well as in other fields of activity.
